Frodo Is On The Fence About Forgiveness

I got back from my trip to Uganda and Kenya to find that Frodo had somehow managed to get himself stuck on top of my neighbour’s fence (looks like he climbed a tree in my yard and then jumped over to the fence–normally he is not a tree climber!)

FRODO: Well, well! So you finally decided to come home! Amarula told me that Africa was really far away but that if I climbed to the top of the fence I might be able to see you!

AMARULA: Who me? I would never say such a thing…(that idiot believes everything I tell him and thus provides hours of amusement)

FRODO: And Amarula was right just like I knew she would be! I climbed to the top of the fence and now I can see you! I knew my buddy would never steer me wrong.

FRODO: But now that you’re back home can you please help me down? It’s awfully high up here!

(I have lots of photos to go through and saw lots of big cats in Africa–I will share some next week!)

Feline Sulking: A Play In Three Acts

Well I told the cats that their human is going off on a trip to Africa (Uganda to see the gorillas and then Kenya for safari) for 3 weeks! They were not amused!

AMARULA: Just make sure you leave the catnip cupboard unlocked. Will I miss you?! I’ve already forgotten your name!

ZULU: I am going to just try to sleep through the whole thing and wake up in three weeks. I don’t want to get too stressed out cause it’s bad for my complexion

(I love how Zulu has that single tooth that sticks out!)

FRODO: What do you mean you’re leaving without me? Can’t you see what the box says? I’m essential!

I will miss them and sorry if i don’t get a chance to respond to your blogs for the next three weeks. I don’t know what internet will be like. I leave on Thursday! I’ll share whatever photos of big cats i get! In the meantime here is a photo of the first hummingbird I had in my yard this year – on the feeder right outside of my office window!

The Gang’s All Here!

FRODO: Hey when are you going to turn out the light? You know how grumpy you get if you don’t get your 8 hours of sleep!

FRODO: Five more minutes and then lights out please!

(This is a very rare event! Amarula never sleeps on the bed  — and certainly not that close to Frodo — so it’s very rare all 3 are together at bedtime! And Frodo does hate when I don’t go right to sleep cause he hates if I move around when reading)

Zulu Has A New Friend

Zulu was in the backyard when he noticed there was a new cat hanging out. It’s Remington my neighbour’s cat. (I have seen him in my yard only a couple of times. He likes to sit near the black tubes to see if there are any chipmunks inside. I leave the tubes in the back yard in the summer so the chippies have a place to hide if a cat [some of the neighbourhood cats come to my yard] tries to get them. It has worked wonderfully so far!)

Zulu followed him around for awhile to determine if Remington was friend or foe.

Zulu really had to think about it. Remington appeared to fall asleep while Zulu was making up his mind.

ZULU: Sir, I do not like that you trespassed in my yard but I do admire your fluff! This could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship!

Finally Zulu seemed to decide that Rem was not a threat and they just hung out for awhile.

Hopefully Remington will be back for a visit soon!

Can You Spot The Tortie?

Who wants to play spot the tortie? Amarula is hiding somewhere on the backyard deck. Can you find her?

You’re getting closer…

CLOSER…

AMARULA: Oh God! I thought we agreed you were going to count to a BILLION before coming to look for me! What does a tortie have to do to get some peace around here?

Frodo Turns Up The Heat

FRODO: Something doesn’t seem right here…I am sitting in front of the vent but no hot air is coming out…

FRODO: What do you mean it’s summer and you’ve turned off the heat? But what about my belly? How will it possibly stay warm?

FRODO: Who wants to help me keep my belly warm? Lots of belly rubs would probably help!

Frodo Is Not A Morning Kitty!

FRODO: What do you mean it’s time to get up! (Frodo’s expression says it all! He is not and has never been a morning kitty!)

FRODO: Can’t you see that Zulu and I are having a fantastic snuggle session. Can’t we please have a couple more hours of sleep? Do you really want to break up this bromance?

Could you say no to these two adorable kitties?

Alas, I could not

FRODO: thanks! Zzzzz
