I am starting to get into birding so I have been watching informational videos about birds and Frodo seems to have decided that birding is a hobby he can definitely get behind!
Ironically, the bird song that captured Frodo’s attention the most is from a bird called a gray catbird! So named because one of its many calls (it has dozens) sounds like a mewling cat. Frodo will make a fantastic birder as long as he can keep his claws to himself!

Frodo is really great with kids. Even really little kids. A neighbor youngster frequently comes to visit Frodo and they hang out in the backyard checking out the tubes (the tubes are for chipmunks to hide in. We have lots of cats around the neighborhood that chase them so the tubes give the chipmunks a safe place to hide until I can come rescue them! It works surprisingly well!)
Kids are always so excited that Frodo lets them get so close!

I know this blog is supposed to be about my kitties but the most amazing thing happened over the weekend. A family of 5 eastern screech owls (2 parents and 3 babies) hung out in my neighbour’s backyard for two days! It was one of the best nature experiences I have ever had (the cats weren’t nearly as excited because I pretty much ignored them for 2 days!) Here are some photos
