A Catnapping Tortie

We had 10 inches of snow yesterday and it started snowing again just now but all is well with the world when you’re sitting next to a sleeping tortie!

Ahhhhhhhh

I mean is there anything cuter?!?!

oh oh! A woken up tortie is more dangerous than cute

AMARULA: That’s the smartest thing you’ve said all day! Who dares to wake a sleeping tortie? Now let me get back to my beauty sleep (though I clearly don’t need it)

Frodo and Amarula Go Birding

You may recall from a couple of posts ago, that Amarula has become fascinated with bird TV.

She especially loves it on the large TV screen

AMARULA: Insolent bird! How dare you look me in the eyes! Why are you not quaking with fear?

Well after watching his sister have so much fun, Frodo decided to get into the action.

FRODO: Hi Mr. Bird

FRODO: You know I hate to say it but I don’t see what Amarula finds so fascinating about birds. They don’t seem to be great conversationalists at all!

Amarula Goes Birding

Who knew Amarula was a bird lover?

Birding is one of my hobbies and i was watching a nature video and Amarula was transfixed!

AMARULA: Why can’t I bite this darn squirrel! Why is it not running away in fear?

She kept looking behind the computer to see where the bird was

AMARULA: You better stop laughing human and help me get this bird because one way or another I will be biting something in the next few seconds!

Enjoy this short video of Amarula touching the screen trying to grab the bird.

Happy Holidays!

ZULU: I wonder if actual reindeer ever felt this humiliated?

AMARULA: Bah humbug!

AMARULA: I think we both know that if you don’t get this ridiculous outfit off me right now one of us will be spending Christmas in the emergency ward.

FRODO: I love dressing up like Santa! Why do I only get to do it once a year?

FRODO: Though I can’t help feeling that this outfit used to fit me a whole lot better. Mom must have accidentally shrunk it in the wash

Merry Christmas to all!

Let Sleeping Cats Lie!

I got an early Christmas present! A very RARE site indeed. All three kitties in bed together!

I am used to waking up with Zulu and Frodo, but Amarula usually jumps right off the bed when she sees the other two. This time she stayed for a whole five minutes! She must be filled with the Christmas spirit! Humbug!

AMARULA: I am clearly sleepwalking! There is no explanation for me to be here with those two otherwise! Sleepwalking I tell you! I am definitely not filled with Christmas Spirit!

Amarula’s Got Lots of Emotional Baggage

I am back from Ecuador and the Galapagos and it was amazing (see the best thing I bought while there at the end of this post)

As soon as I had unpacked, Amarula jumped into my suitcase as though preventing me from leaving again. It was so cute!

AMARULA: Oh please! I just booked a flight to Vegas and am just testing out the size of the suitcase to make sure my litter box fits! I didn’t even notice you were gone. Bon voyage baby!

Best Buy Ever

Would you believe I saw this beauty in a shop window in Quito, the capital city of Ecuador? The sales people didn’t speak English but kept laughing at how excited I was! And yes I did buy it and wore it out to dinner that night!!

Amarula and Frodo Go For A Walk

Still having a heat wave here in Southern Ontario Canada! So Frodo and Amarula went for a nice neighbourhood walk (Zulu prefers to stay close to the house and doesn’t join us on neighbourhood walks!)

Frodo follows Amarula’s every move.

FRODO: Hey bestie slow down I can’t keep up!

AMARULA: That’s the idea!

Amarula does try to get ahead and lead the way (she likes to be the boss — and get some space between her and Frodo!)

FRODO: Wait for me Amarula!

When we got back home, Zulu joined us in the neighbour’s garden.

Here’s a very short video of Frodo and Amarula walking – you can see how close Frodo tries to stay to her.

Please let me know if the video doesn’t work!

I won’t be posting for the next two weeks as I will be going to Ecuador and the Galapagos!
