A Catnapping Tortie

We had 10 inches of snow yesterday and it started snowing again just now but all is well with the world when you’re sitting next to a sleeping tortie!

Ahhhhhhhh

I mean is there anything cuter?!?!

oh oh! A woken up tortie is more dangerous than cute

AMARULA: That’s the smartest thing you’ve said all day! Who dares to wake a sleeping tortie? Now let me get back to my beauty sleep (though I clearly don’t need it)

Where’s Frodo?

ZULU: Washing my self by the fire and warming my toesies!

ZULU: Hey, the fire has been on for 30 seconds now and not a sign of Frodo. Where could he be?

ZULU: Frodo where are you?

FRODO: Did I just hear my name? Coming bro! I was just taking a nap under mom’s winter jacket

ZULU: About time. Now i can get back to what i was doing!

FRODO: I can’t believe you almost had to enjoy the fireplace without me

Frodo and Amarula Go Birding

You may recall from a couple of posts ago, that Amarula has become fascinated with bird TV.

She especially loves it on the large TV screen

AMARULA: Insolent bird! How dare you look me in the eyes! Why are you not quaking with fear?

Well after watching his sister have so much fun, Frodo decided to get into the action.

FRODO: Hi Mr. Bird

FRODO: You know I hate to say it but I don’t see what Amarula finds so fascinating about birds. They don’t seem to be great conversationalists at all!

Preparing For A Polar Vortex

We are experiencing some of the coldest temperatures of the winter thanks to a polar vortex

Frodo and Zulu, upon hearing the news, went straight into “polar vortex prep” mode.

Clearly, it will be a struggle to manage the cold but they will somehow do their best to pull through!

Wish them luck!

FRODO: May your week be warm and full of cuddles (and a fireplace too)!

Amarula Goes Birding

Who knew Amarula was a bird lover?

Birding is one of my hobbies and i was watching a nature video and Amarula was transfixed!

AMARULA: Why can’t I bite this darn squirrel! Why is it not running away in fear?

She kept looking behind the computer to see where the bird was

AMARULA: You better stop laughing human and help me get this bird because one way or another I will be biting something in the next few seconds!

Enjoy this short video of Amarula touching the screen trying to grab the bird.

Zulu Has A Belly Ache

Poor Zulu was sick last week and needed an ultrasound because he wasn’t eating. Turns out it was pancreatitis. Luckily he is feeling much better but he is very sad he had to have his belly shaved for the ultrasound.

ZULU: I feel naked and cold without my beautiful belly fur! What will the ladies say!?

ZULU: You don’t think anyone will notice do you?

His brother Frodo seemed very worried about Zulu and tried to comfort him.

ZULU: I know the little guy is worried about me and is trying to comfort me but could you please ask him to stop drooling on my head! (Sadly Frodo is indeed a big drooler!)

New Year Resolutions

I think this dynamic duo did a little too much partying with catnip on New Years eve!

You may recall from my post from a few weeks ago that i found an amazing Christmas cat blazer while traveling in Ecuador. My sister was so sad to hear that i found it at a used clothing store so there was only one which meant I could not buy her one (she’s a veterinarian who specializes in cats and it would clearly be perfect to wear to the office). Well, because i am the Best Sister In The World I searched and found an exact copy on eBay and gave it to her as an early Christmas gift! The perfect gift for a vet!! Now my town has two of these amazing blazers!

Happy Holidays!

ZULU: I wonder if actual reindeer ever felt this humiliated?

AMARULA: Bah humbug!

AMARULA: I think we both know that if you don’t get this ridiculous outfit off me right now one of us will be spending Christmas in the emergency ward.

FRODO: I love dressing up like Santa! Why do I only get to do it once a year?

FRODO: Though I can’t help feeling that this outfit used to fit me a whole lot better. Mom must have accidentally shrunk it in the wash

Merry Christmas to all!
