You Know It’s Winter When….

You know it’s winter when Amarula actually doesn’t mind hanging out (for very short periods) with her brothers! Although Frodo did ruin it a second later by going in for a hug! The little guy never learns!

Here are Amarula’s Friendly Fill-Ins hosted by 15andmeowing and McGuffy’s Reader!

  1. I have never been able to _get used to using an indoor litter box. Those contraptions are for felines who are trapped inside cat-containment units (aka houses) not for free-wheeling felines like myself. Because I won’t go outside I have to use them in the winter…But I don’t like it!!! And I show my displeasure by throwing litter everywhere! Ha ha!
  2. I wish I could still smell the ocean air in Cape Town, Africa. It was a hard life being a street cat in South Africa but at least I had no snow and the air always smelled oceany! (Though I will grudgingly admit Canadian air smells pretty nice too! Don’t tell the human I said that!).
  3. March 19th (the last official day of winter) is my ideal winter night.
  4. Zulu and Frodo get more interesting the longer I am trapped indoors through the winter (don’t tell the human or those two dunderheads I said that). Occasionally I even try to play with them for about five seconds. Then I come to my senses, shake off my winter fever, and give them a good swift wappity whap.

  1. Bwahahahahahahahaha. You’re a handful aren’t you? Yes you are.

I already linked this post to Feline Friday.

Have a purrfect day and weekend. My best to your mom. ♥

  2. I suppose people would say you’re sweet for hanging out with the lowly peasants … but Moms suck! They’re like paparazzi … always sharing our darkest secrets. We should totally share their dirty laundry all over the place. I mean, just yesterday, my Momma …
{BLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP}. It was HILARIOUS! Hahahahaha. ~Bear Cat

  3. I don’t think of it as being trapped or contained in the house. I consider it not worrying about getting hit by a car or poisoned by a nutting neighbor or getting attacked by a wild dog.

  4. Great picture of three of you together! Amarula, I understand winter fever sometimes makes you do weird things..like hanging out with your brofurs and playing with them 🙂

  5. If I was a cat I would think those new-fangled automatic litter boxes are very scary, but my daughter’s furkids had no problem adapting to them. With five cats in the house our litter boxes get scooped often to keep things smelling nice. Smoky, who was a feral originally, will wait right there for me to clean it spotless for his use!

I love the smell of ocean air too, the beach is my most favorite place to be, and yet we don’t live near one and I don’t get there often. I can understand how you must miss it at times.

Oh yes, the night before Spring Equinox is a very good winter night because it is the last one, unless you live someplace cold and have another month or so of winter weather to endure. I used to long ago, but now I live in West Texas where the winters are usually mild. I miss the snow a little… sometimes. 🙂

I bet Zulu and Frodo are having fun trying to get you to play with them and snuggle! I have an elder kitty who is 14 and has no patience with the younger ones who want to play with her, or cuddle up. One hissy fit from her and they remember to respect their elders! Other than that she is totally sweet. <3

  6. Chloe Jo throws litter all over. She is the messiest with litter! Grizelda, her sister, is the opposite. I have to tell her, “Grizelda, you’re done, now!” She will stay in there, scratching and scratching, trying to clean things up. I love your picture. It looks like a Meeting of the Minds. Hugs!

  7. Amarula, you have the best answers! Your #3 is purrfect. We all feel the same way. We have to try harder to do the fill-ins. We usually just let mom do them, but they are so much more interesting when completed by us kitties.
