Farewell To A Feline Friend: A Hug in Honor of RouXy

It is with a heavy heart that we heard that RouXy, our feline friend who lives in France, went to the Rainbow Bridge yesterday. Frodo, Zulu and Amarula had just met him recently but he seemed like a wonderful, spirited cat. He only had 3 legs because when he was young he got caught in a leg hold trap for 24 hours. Luckily he was found but he lost the leg — though that never slowed him down! His best feline friend Frimousse is sure to miss him.  I am sure the family would appreciate any kind words. The blog is in French and English. Here is the link.

AMARULA: Just leave me alone today Frodo, I am feeling very sad about the loss of RouXy.

FRODO: I’m sad too. Do you know what I think we both need…

FRODO: A hug!

AMARULA: Oh Brother!

FRODO: Do you feel better yet?

AMARULA: Yep. You can let go anytime!

FRODO: Do you think RouXy is with our beloved brother Biltong?

AMARULA: Yeah I sure do Frodo. We will miss you RouXy! Frodo, it’s OK if you want to hug me for just a little longer…

  1. Many thanks Amaruda and Frodo for thinking of poor RouXy.
Frimousse cannot answer you himself since he is not well today.
He’s hardly had some food and he’s spent the sleeping and touring the house to find RouXy.
I suppose it’ll take some time before loses hope of seeing RouXy again….

  2. Amarula – you soft girl! Aw.

And we are so sad too – we just met Frimousse and RouXy and now the great orange mancat has gone to meet those who have gone before *sniff*.
    I need some mancat hugs.

  3. Godspeed your journey to heaven RouXy; we are truly sorry and send our sincerest
sympathies to your family. with hugs, boomer, daisy, tuna and dude and sauce too♥️♥️♥️

  4. You two are good friends who made a wonderful tribute 🙂

At first, I thought Frodo was trying to bite the back of Amarula’s neck. I couldn’t believe my eyes when I walked in on Bear doing that to Kitty (he was a kitten at the time … she just wanted to be left alone). I was very upset – not the least of it because Kitty was diabetic and I’d already found marks on the scruff of her neck and hadn’t been able to figure out where they came from. The vet said he was asserting dominance and I have to give him credit … he had balls (not really … hahaha) because messing with Kitty was like kicking a hornet’s nest 🙂
I joke … but it really upset me … I know it was tough for her to adjust to him and I still feel guilty for that. That’s all completely irrelevant here obviously 🙂
